Super Bowl Ad: Motorola Xoom takes on the Apple iPad
Motorola took aim at the Apple faithful with its Super Bowl commercial last night, comparing them to a sea of mindless followers. |
- Motorola is set to release its Xoom tablet this month (the first to run Android’s 3.0 "Honeycomb" operating system) to take on the wildly successful Apple iPad.
- Motorola is smart to point out features of the Xoom in the ad that Apple’s iPad still lacks, including 3D Google map rendering and a built-in camera.
- Billed as “a tablet to create a better world,” the Xoom features a dual-core processor, a 10.1” widescreen display and support for Adobe Flash.
- A release date or pricing for the Xoom has not been announced, but Engadget reportedtoday it will be released Feb. 24 with a price tag of $800 at Best Buy.
- Apple is widely expected to release its next-generation iPad some time this spring.
